CHARMING & GORGEOUS

Pamper Yourself, Love Yourself

I am a girl who believes in using the most beautiful things at home when I am by myself, enjoying my own company. I like to spoil myself, but more than that… I believe in savoring every moment in life and enjoying all of life’s pleasures. The hand-painted Messien porcelain depicting 1001 Nights is a treasure that I would selfishly like keep for my own. It seems like the perfect thing to wake up to. Starting the day with breakfast served on this exceptionally beautiful tablewear.

When Only The Best Will Do

It is no secret that one of Albertine & Odette’s favorite websites is 20LTD. For years it has given us drool worthy items to lust over… With that said, nothing could be more desirable, most lust-worthy, more decadent than a bone China dildo with a 24 carat gold-plated valve! Pump it UP!, as it is called, was created exclusively for 20LTD by Dutch conceptual jeweller Ted Noten.

Only 20 editions have been made. Refinement and style should be a part of all facets of one’s life, both public and private. It is all in the details and the greatest luxuries are the small personal luxuries you keep all for yourself.

Subtle Reminders

This photo has been sitting on my desktop for a while and I confess to not knowing where it came from or who this wonderful room belongs to, but this room makes me happy. The colours, the textures, the unfussy mood, the quirkiness of it… reminds me that it is important to take risks and to live life to the absolute fullest, try new things on for size, break rules, laugh, do at least one crazy thing each day, forget about what everyone else says or thinks… do what is in your heart.

EXTRAORDINARILY SACRED

A Poem Once Given To Me… That Burned Its Memory Upon My Heart

Déshabille-toi

Déshabille-toi

Baigne-toi dans cette eau noire

Tu n’as rien à craindre

Tu l’as déjà fait

Le corps humain impermeable ne se

mouille pas comme une éponge

Le soleil séchera la boue

Elle tombera en poussière

Baigne-toi

Vas-y

La terre est vaste et ton coeur aussi

qui, tous comptes faits et bien faits

ne contient pas encore d’erreur

et n’a jamais contenu de boue

ESOTERIC ESSAYAGE

Glamorously Cozy

It’s the holiday season and the winter winds are blowing… We love any excuse to wear fur! This Jean Paul Gaultier Silver Fox Stole is the most luxurious way to battle the elements. It is simply too stunning and we love it even more because of its versatility. This is the sort of gorgeous little item you could wear at night to the most fabulous fête or daytime toss it on with a pair of jeans and a challenging look in your eyes.

I’ll Have Another Please!

It is important to serve your guests festive cocktails, whether you are hosting a party or even when a friend is stopping by to swoop you up for an evening’s adventures, it is simply part of being a delightful host. A creative, palate-awakening cocktail sets the tone for jubilance and reverie.

SCHOOL NIGHTS

Haute Hot Pot

I love glamorously cozy meals, curling up with the people you love and tucking into something simple and delicious. My favorite meals to share are those that are interactive, two of the best being Hot Pot and Shabu Shabu. There is a peaceful, graceful beauty to the ritual of these meals. It is this ritual that was the inspiration of Singapore designer Tan Lun Cheak of Little Thoughts Group when he created Glowbelly Steamboat, a beautiful glass table lamp that can be reconfigured to form a steamboat or hot pot. The Glowbelly Steamboat is part of an exhibition entitled Imprints: Designing for Memories, at the National Museum of Singapore.
