EXTRAORDINARILY SACRED

11.11.11

Tomorrow at precisely 11:30 A.M. in Los Angeles, the shift into the Aquarian Age will commence. In honor of the momentous event, I can think of none other than yogi and spiritual teacher Ram Das and his book Be Here Now who’s message stands the test of time.

The City In Which I Loved You

If I feel the night

move to disclosures or crescendos,

it’s only because I’m famished

for meaning; the night

merely dissolves.

And your otherness is perfect as my death.

Your otherness exhausts me

like looking suddenly up from here

to impossible stars fading.

Everything is punished by your absence.

The Perfect Pair of Boots

It is nearly impossible to find the perfect pair of boots; a pair that you can wear everywhere, with everything; a pair of boots you can try on in the store, fall in love with, buy them and immediately head to Disneyland, or go dancing until daybreak; boots that are made with the very best leather, handcrafted, but unfussy and a little bit rebellious; boots that mimic the most gorgeous vintage offerings…. Meet my new obsession… Golden Goose 108 Golden, currently at the very top of my wish list.

Tapping Into Our Consciousness

“I never would have imagined it would be like this. There was no transition. There was no universe with stars and a pinpoint of light like last time….

There were all of these dolls in 1890s outfits, life-sized, men and women. The women were in corsets. They had big breasts and big butts and teeny skinny waists. They were all whirling around me on tiptoes. The men had top hats, riding on two-seater bicycles. One merry-go-round after another after another. The women had red circles painted on their cheeks, and there was calliope music in the background. And there were some clowns, flitting in and out, not really the main characters, but busier, somehow more aware of me than the mannequins.”

The “$100 Dollar Pedicure”

Today I woke up with a mission, the mission to pamper myself. And so I started my day with a visit to HANDS ON Boutique Spa in Beverly Hills to try out their “$100 Dollar Pedicure” (thank you Emmy gift bag!). I was a little skeptical at first and kept wondering what they could possibly do to my feet that would be worth $100….

… Well let me assure you, it was worth every pretty penny. The moment I walked in I was offered Earl Grey tea and a glass of Champagne. As I settled into an incredibly comfy (and cute) chair with my bevvies, my nail diva, Tu came over and introduced herself. She is truly the most knowledgable person I have ever met in her field. She was sweet, friendly and offered me endless advice on how to keep my feet their softest and prettiest. The peppermint, rose and lavender foot soak was heavenly and the collagen massage left my feet feeling more luxurious then I thought possible.  HANDS ON is head and shoulders above anything I have experienced before. They even went the extra mile and hooked me up with some lovely free products, including a pair of gel insole socks to insure that my feet are always as soft as can be.

Do not be afraid… they offer many wonderful services at reasonable prices. So give them a call and treat yourself!

They definitely have a new regular customer!

Magic Is In The Air

Last week was full of magic and surprises. So many wonderful gifts from the universe…. finding a Victorian lace blouse and the perfect blue eel skin handbag while vintage shopping in Palm Springs on Guru Ram Das’s birthday, coming home one night to find that a wild bird had flown into my house and wanted to stay a while… and… having a complete stranger give me the most spectacular dress. The dress (shown below) is made by Ricardo Seco. When I wore it out last night, it was as if the good energy that it was given with, just extended out to everyone. So many people smiled and were enchanted and wanted to touch it, and hug me, and be friends.

The most important thing you can do in life, is to be open to the gifts of the universe. The gifts are real and just waiting for you to be ready to receive them!

The Invitation Says It All

Let’s face it…. invitations are important. A good invitation sets the tone for the entire party. It is the most important tool for creating excitement and a buzz around your event. Invitations should always strive to be creative and unique, which is why I am gushing over the Viewmaster Invitation listed on Etsy. It is truly genius! This would have to be so insanely fun to create…. And seriously! If got one of these in the mail, wild horses couldn’t keep me from attending this party!

FLEETING MOMENTS

Life Speeding By…

The past few weeks have been busy. Every minute has been full of life and living it, leaving no time for writing or researching.

I can only offer you fleeting glimpses of some of the places I have been and things I have seen…

Jalal al-Din Rumi

“This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival: A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they are a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice — meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.”
