DEGREES OF HYSTERIA

Flight of Fancy

When I was 3 years-old I fell in love with my first pair of shoes; a red pair of sneakers with reflectors on the front and back. I loved the shoes so much that I insisted on wearing them to bed every night, not even wanting to remove them when I slept.

Jeremy Scott has created a line of sneakers for Adidas that make one’s heart feel free and young, that make one so happy that it is difficult not to shout with glee!

Hello Kitty x Doc Martens… Super Cute!

Albertine & Odette are lifelong Sanrio junkies. Everything having to do with Hello Kitty and her world of fabulous friends piques our interest. The latest product launch is a follow-up, limited edition mash up of Hello Kitty and Doc Martens… I mean, afterall, Deathrock and Goth girls and boys have always been known to rock serious Sanrio. Today is the first day that you can pre-order  yourself a happy pair of Shoreditch Boots or Carnaby Mary Janes. The estimated ship date is May 16. While we are seriously gushing over the boots… we are also feeling like we have come full circle. We wore Doc Martens in Middle School in the 1980s… I would be interested to know who the target audience is here!

Pre-order yourself a pair before they disappear: Sanrio.com – Home of Hello Kitty.

The Artsy Crowd

Last night I had the pleasure of attending Ghost Stories: A Night of Happenings and Hauntings at the “risk-taking fine arts enterprise”, Beacon Arts, which featured indoor and outdoor events, all well-curated and curious. Below are some images of things, moments and people that attracted my eye.

Spring 2011 RTW… So far… It’s all about the shoes

For some reason, my focus has been much more on shoes during the Women’s Spring 2011 RTW collections. I am not completely sure why they are taking center-stage over the clothing, but I guess with show-stoppers like this, it’s hard to focus on anything else!
